LinkedIn is a business social networking site with over 19 million users representing over 150 worldwide industries.
LinkedIn has redesigned their site to a more user friendly and clean interface.
The new tabs and drop-down menu system makes navigation easier and more consistent. Your Profile snapshot allows you to see how exactly how you are presenting your professional identity. It also includes a Status that allows you to update your network on what you are currently doing.
The new design also include new modules.
- The Answers module showcases what questions your network is asking, so that you can directly contribute to the network’s knowledge and perhaps ask a question yourself.
- The People module showcases the contacts you can make through your network (by using the connections of your connections).
- The Jobs module showcases the jobs and opportunities your network can help you with.
“We are now turning our focus toward helping our membership base fully utilize their networks in order to increase their work productivity,” said Allen Blue, co-founder of LinkedIn and VP of Product Strategy. “LinkedIn News is designed to ensure that professionals see what they need to know each day to be more effective and clued in to what others in their networks are thinking about. It ensures that the most relevant and urgent news are top of mind for professionals as they start their work day.”
LinkedIn News is a new feature that allows you to read news drawn from more than 10,000 publishers and blogs. Daily key topics are drawn from your company, products, competitors and industry. LinkedIn News is currently in beta and should be available soon.
