itSMF USA Fusion ‘08 New Speakers Announced
IT Service Management Forum USA® (itSMF USA®), the nation’s leading association focused on optimizing IT operations for companies and organizations in all industries, today announced that Sharon Taylor, ITIL author and ITSM expert, and CIO guru Charlie Feld have been added to an already impressive list of keynote speakers for itSMF USA® Fusion ‘08.
Previously-announced keynote speakers include NFL Hall of Famer Archie Manning, best-selling author and business thinker Patrick Lencioni, and Connie Podesta, a leader in the field of human behavior.
Taylor is president of the Aspect Group, a North American-based ITSM practice provider of training, consultancy, assessment and best practice implementation. ITSM, or IT Service Management, is a practice which enables any organization to deliver quality IT services that satisfy customer business requirements to achieve performance targets specified within service level agreements. Her expertise is also in ITIL, or IT Infrastructure Library, which is a specific set of techniques developed for the management of IT.
Expected to attract more than 2,000 attendees, the eighth annual conference being held Sept. 7-13, 2008 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, is the largest, most comprehensive gathering of ITSM professionals. The theme for Fusion ’08 is “Uniting the World of IT Service Management.” At this not-to-miss conference, Taylor will share her insights on ITIL v3, and the lessons to be learned from other companies’ use of ITIL v3 in the past year.
“I see big changes coming in the industry,” Taylor said. “The expansion of service management well beyond the traditional boundaries of IT will be the next major trend shift in ITSM. This trend will precipitate a much greater scope of practice, the formalization of academic research and partnerships with trend setters in service management to a degree we have never seen before.”
Taylor, who resides in Canada, is president of the Institute of Certified Service Managers (ICSM) in North America and serves as chair of itSMF International.

Also new to the speaker roster is Charlie Feld, senior executive vice president for EDS Applications Services. With a background in Fortune 500 organizations and his own IT services consultancy company, Feld is very familiar with the best ways to improve CIO organizations. In his presentation, Feld, who has witnessed firsthand many changes in the IT industry, will share his experiences developing strategies and platforms that result in success in the marketplace.
Last year, itSMF put on the industry’s first conference where ITIL v3 was formally discussed in depth. That commitment to excellence will be continued this year with the discussion on emerging trends and issues that matter most to the industry.
