Avocent Corporation a global leader in IT Operations Management, today announced that its LANDesk® Management Suite 8.8 has been named winner of Network World magazine’s “Best of the Test” in the category of systems management.
Avocent’s LANDesk software has now won the prestigious “Best of the Test” award from Network World, an IDG company, twice (2009, 2007) in the past three years. In addition, the management suite has continually earned high honors from Network World’s test lab, winning Network World’s “Clear Choice Test” award reviews three consecutive years (2008, 2007 and 2006).
“Network World’s recognition of LANDesk’s Management Suite further validates that our product technology is ahead of the competition,” said Ben Grimes, CTO of Avocent. “Systems management is key to our continued commitment to seeking groundbreaking ways for our products to improve the cost-efficiency and performance across enterprise desktop environments. We are honored to once again be named as “Best in Test” for systems management.”
Network World reviewers stated, “LANDesk gave us virtually everything we wanted in a client management product — and more. Plus, the LANDesk Management Suite’s support for diverse platforms was superb. Out of the more than 150 products tested by our Lab Alliance members last year, a baker’s dozen rise to the top of the list. They excel in performance, usability and enterprise feature functionality.”
The 2009 “Best of the Tests” Awards were awarded by Network World to a select few products in enterprise networking categories that registered the top performance spots in its hands-on testing program during 2008: the best of the best. In all, Network World tested and reported on hundreds of enterprise products in that time frame, selecting 13 winners.
Network World is the premier source of objective, authoritative reviews in the network IT market, producing articles featuring both single-product and comparative product tests on a weekly basis. The publication taps into its 10-member Network World Lab Alliance, a group of highly qualified industry experts, network integrators, and universities, to set methodology, conduct testing, and produce the articles.
Year-long testing culminates with the Best of the Tests wards. These products are profiled in the annual Network World Best Products package in February. The Best Products issue is highlighted in a special section at http://www.networkworld.com/slideshows/2009/022309-best-products.html?ts0hb&story=ts_bott#slide1.
