Appian Enhances Appian Anywhere BPM Software-as-a-Service Offering

By Sam Grier

bpm Appian, an innovative global provider of business process management (BPM) technology, has announced expanded offerings for the industry-leading Appian Anywhere BPM Platform-as-a-Service, including free 30-day trials.

Using the Appian BPM platform, business users can quickly model and run process improvements via a low-cost Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscription, and can now choose from different SaaS deployment models.

Appian customers can also utilize pre-built applications and components that further accelerate BPM project success. Appian Anywhere provides a cost-effective, low-risk way for companies to speed the process improvements that are critical to weathering the turbulent economic climate.

The entire Appian Anywhere environment is now available for full-featured free 30-day trials. For more information and to sign up, go to http://www.appian.com/anywhere. Because Appian Anywhere is built on the same code base as the 100% web-based Appian Enterprise BPM Suite, Appian customers have the freedom to easily migrate their BPM initiatives between SaaS and traditional on-premise deployments.

Appian Anywhere customer Surrenda-link Investment Management is a specialist asset manager advising on assets worth over £1 billion/ US $1.9 billion. Bruce Spicer, Head of Information Management at Surrenda-link, said, “Appian offered us a unique approach with the Appian Anywhere SaaS solution for our Business Process Management needs. Appian was the only vendor we found with a fully integrated suite, a good commercial model, and a proven track record in SaaS success.”

Standard and Premium Editions

Appian Anywhere delivers all the Process, Analytics, Content and Collaboration features of the award-winning Appian Enterprise BPM Suite in an on-demand deployment model. Starting at just $35 per user per month, Appian Anywhere is a quick and inexpensive way to build and deploy process-based composite applications.

Appian Anywhere is available in two editions – Standard and Premium.

Appian Anywhere Standard Edition is delivered via the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), and is available with same-day verification and enablement. Appian handles all monitoring, management, maintenance and backups. Single Sign-On and SSL encryption are included, and customer integrations are handled via Web Services and other highly secure means. The hosted environment shields customers from infrastructure costs and headaches, while delivering a full-featured BPM platform on which to both model and execute process improvements.

Appian Anywhere Premium Edition is designed for users who desire a Managed Services approach. The associated hardware environment is SAS 70 Type II compliant, with 99.5% Service Level Agreements. Premium Edition includes all the features of Standard Edition mentioned above.

Pre-built Applications and Templates

Both editions of Appian Anywhere include access to pre-built applications, developed by Appian and its solution partners. These software-as-a-service applications, along with other application components and templates, accelerate BPM initiatives. Using them, customers can quickly adopt best practices that have proven successful in other Appian BPM implementations. All pre-built applications and application components are available as downloads from Appian’s online user community, Appian ShareBase. Access to Appian ShareBase and its ever growing library of application components contributed by the Appian community, is free for all active Appian customers and partners.

“Economic conditions are driving a heightened focus on process improvement to deliver visibility, transparency, governance and controls,” said Appian President and CEO Matthew Calkins. “Organizations urgently need fast, low-cost, secure solutions for reducing operating expenses, eliminating waste and increasing margins. With our expanded Appian Anywhere offering, experiencing the power of a complete BPM suite is easier than ever.”
